Moving can cause a lot of stress and anxiety. Have a simple plan of attack.
- Purchase moving materials. Go to www.titancorrugated.com for moving boxes.
- Keep important documents safe and carry valuables. Keep these with you at all times. Important meds, drivers license, moving documentation etc. Have a folder with important birth certificates, marriage licenses, passports, social security documentation, wills etc. Do not pack or box these items up to send with the movers. Make sure you have these with you. Include sentimental items or Grandmas locket or jewelry.
- Use strong boxes. Nothing is worse than packing items and the box is flimsy. Use Titan Corrugated’s boxes and that wont be a problem. Good quality boxes that aren’t flimsy.
- Avoid packing more than 50 lbs. in a box…makes it harder to move.

- Label boxes. Label boxes with room and contents so you can easily decipher where boxes go. Also it is important to label if it is FRAGILE or not!!! Made that mistake!
- Pack one room at a time until it is finished and then move on to another room. It seems more managble that way. This way you can be goal-oriented and pack a room and then take a break before packing another room. For example….” Lets pack the dining room today and tomorrow we will pack the master bedroom.”
- Pack heavy items on the bottom and lighter items on top.
- Pack medicines in leak proof containers (or zip-lock bags).
- When stacking boxes, try to arrange boxes in stacks of similar sized boxes. This way you or movers can easily dolly boxes from the house to the truck. Moving will go faster which translate to less time for movers and that means cheaper for you.
